Scare Away Hunger

The Seventh Annual Scare Away Hunger Food Drive!

Every Halloween, Alycat Photo & Video Services opens its studio doors to goblins, superheroes and princesses. This October, we will once again invite the community to bring their children and pets in their best costumes to pose on our Halloween sets in exchange for food and goods benefiting The Animal Protection Society of Durham or The Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina.

Many communities in our state have suffered greatly following Hurricane Florence. This year’s drive is focused on raising supplies for those recovering. The Food Bank of CENC is currently asking for these donations. The APS of Durham is working with shelters affected by the hurricane to support the animals in their care. Food, cleaning supplies (bleach), kitty litter and towels are all needed items. The spirit of this event has always been to collect food donations. Now, more than ever, those donations are desperately needed.

In order to participate, we ask that you bring a donation of at least five cans of food or 1 bag of pet food per child/pet photographed and you’ll receive 2-3 photos per child/pet in exchange. It’s that simple! Of course, you can donate more. In fact, the more you donate, the more photos we will send along.

But wait… there’s more! Everyone who participates is entered to win one of several awesome prizes donated by local businesses. They include:

  • A one-hour on-location family photo session donated by Alycat Photo & Video Services.
  • ‘Adults Night Out’ sponsored by Aaron and Virginia Fitt
  • Pet Sitting services by Mo Pups NC
  • A guided outdoor excursion with Triangle Adventure Outfitters

We thank all of our sponsors for their support of Scare Away Hunger!
