I am so thrilled to share this wonderful story with you all. Meet Harley and her new parents, Colleen and Mike. Harley was surrendered to the Animal Protection Society of Durham this past summer with terrible burns covering the back half of her body. It breaks my heart to see animals suffering, especially those in such poor shape as Harley.
What is so incredible about animals is their spirit and their hope for better. Even though she was in such a painful state, Harley was happy and would wag her tail. The staff and volunteers at the APS of Durham spent months helping Harley recover until she was finally able to be adopted. It did not take long before Harley won the hearts of Colleen and Mike.
Now, Harley knows nothing but happiness and love. I think her smile says it all.
Harley was featured as the “Fund A Need” fundraiser for the Tails at Twilight Gala which benefited the APS of Durham. Her story is a true testament to the work of the APS of Durham and the community to help animals in need.
