Breena & Dan’s Wedding

I am so excite to share photos from Breena and Dan’s October wedding! We met Dan and Breena through a close mutual friend and hit it off immediately. When you meet them, it’s easy to see why. They are so much fun to be around! You are guaranteed to laugh and have a good time. Their wedding was no different! Even though it was a rainy, gray day for their outdoor wedding, everyone was laughing and having a good time.

Dan and Breena are crazy about each other! Just watching them together, the way they interact and look at each other, you can feel the love they share. Honestly, doesn’t the picture above make you smile? They are just that adorable together! Not to mention that their personalities are a perfect match. They can laugh and joke together about anything, including each other.

When Breena and Dan got engaged and began looking for a location, they knew they wanted something outdoors with lots of nature and plenty of space for everyone to hang out and enjoy the day. They ended up deciding to do their wedding at a property in Yanceyville that Dan’s family had recently bought. It was the perfect location for the relaxed, laid back wedding they were aiming for.

I went up with Breena a few weeks before the wedding to get an idea of what we would be working with. The family was hard at work getting the farm ready for the wedding. The before and after photos are just amazing! Having their families work so hard to get the farm all ready for the wedding added this special touch to the day.

When I met with Breena and Dan to go over our shot list, they mentioned how important getting photos with Dan’s grandmother was. She would be coming from Russia for the wedding. It had been years since Dan had seen his grandmother. So having her at the wedding was a big deal.

I love Breena’s reaction to seeing her hair and makeup all done.

This photo makes me laugh and smile because I have this same photo from my wedding. Weddings wouldn’t happen without bridesmaids!

I love this photo. Breena and her parents are just so cute!

The rain stopped just in time for the start of the ceremony! It was the best weather we had seen all day.

Remember how I said Breena and Dan love to laugh? It’s infectious! The ceremony they wrote had everyone laughing.

If I had to pick one picture that I felt best represents Dan and Breena, it would be this one. After walking out from the ceremony, they hid behind this tree while guests cleared out to head over to the reception. I came around the corner to find them laughing and carrying on. It was the perfect moment.

The different reactions from the guys in this photo is priceless!

As Breena and I stood on the hill where the ceremony would be, she made a comment about how funny it would be to have a picture of everyone as pirates storming the hill from the lake. I wasn’t quite sure what Breena had in mind until I showed up for the wedding and saw the collection of pirate gear she and Dan had bought. Needless to say, we had a lot of fun setting this shot up.

Do they not make such a beautiful couple?

Since the ceremony was at 2 o’clock with dinner at 5, Breena and Dan set up a variety of outdoor games and activities during the cocktail hours. Everyone had a blast!

One of the best parts about getting married is becoming a member of a new family. Seeing the bonds that Dan and Breena have created with each others families is so sweet.

Dan and Breena made their own ‘photo booth’ by hanging this picture frame up between two trees and laying out a bunch of props. It was a huge hit! People were over there all evening getting their photos taken.

The dinner was held in a barn that Dan and his family restored. It was just big enough to get everyone in for the amazing meal we had been watching the chefs grill up.

Instead of cutting a cake, Breena and Dan opted to light a bon fire together to cap off a great night. It gave us the opportunity to capture a few last photos, some unlike any we had taken before. The results include the photo below. It’s so romantic!

Breena and Dan, it was such a pleasure to photograph your big day! The wedding was unbelievable and truly unique. It captured your personalities and the love you share so well, and we’re honored to have been a part of it. We wish you many years of happiness, love and of course, laughter!
