Samson

This handsome little man is Samson. He is an 11-year-old beagle mix with a smile that runs from ear to ear. Recently, he was diagnosed with lung cancer, but that hasn’t slowed Samson down at all. He still greets you with a huge grin.

We invited Samson over to our studio for some photos and cupcakes. As you can see below, the cupcakes did not last very long.

Purl

This pretty pittie is Purl! For over a year, Purl has been battling cancer, but you wouldn’t be able to tell by that face! When news came that her time may be limited, Purl’s mom called me to set up a pet photo session. The goal was to get some photos of Purl smiling and having fun with her siblings, just the way her mom wants to remember her.

As many of you know, we are big animal lovers at Alycat. We believe pets are part of the family and should be included in family photos. So when we got the call that time was of the essence, we made sure to get Purl and her family in front of the camera as quickly as possible. Purl was more than ready for her closeup!

Purl with her sister and brother.

You can tell just how much Purl loves her mom. She sat around with a big smile as her mom dressed her up like a princess. She loved every minute of it.

Purl loves her bones. Even if she can’t eat them all, she’ll never turn one done. She just saves them for later.

2017 Walk for the Animals

On May 20th, folks from around the triangle flooded Duke University’s East Campus for the 2017 Walk for the Animals. The annual walk benefits the Animal Protection Society of Durham and raises tens of thousands of dollars to help the organization fund adoption and education programs in the community.

The walk is one of my favorite events of the year to volunteer for. It’s just so much fun! We get lots of great photos, and it is hard to narrow done to a handful to put on the blog. Somehow, we managed to do it. Here are a few of my favorites.
