The Oakkar Family

What a perfect evening we had for our shoot with the sweet Oakkar Family! It’s hard to believe it was raining just before our shoot. Luckily, the skies cleared and gave us a beautiful sunset backdrop for our photos. You cannot ask for much more than this in late November!

Before we did any family photos, we spent a little time playing on the playground. The Oakkar children showed me their favorite jungle gym activities, all with ear-to-ear smiles. Honestly though, who wouldn’t laugh at watching the “camera lady” trying to follow you down a slide she is definitely too big for?

The Lang Family

Who’s turning one? Little Evelyn! We had the honor of having the Lang family in front of the camera as they celebrated Evelyn’s big day. It took a little while to get her to warm up, but once she did, Evelyn was all smiles. It also helped that she found her daddy to be incredibly funny. Can you tell which photos he was making silly faces at her?

Scare Away Hunger 2018

Our 7th annual Scare Away Hunger food drive was one of our best yet! Last month, 78 family and one girl scout troop helped us raise almost 1,800 pounds of food and supplies for the Food Bank of Central and Eastern NC and the Animal Protection Society of Durham. That brings our 7 year total of of food raised to 9,300 pounds!

One of the best parts of our food drive is seeing so many families returning each year. As you scroll through the photos below, you may notice a few familiar faces. It is a joy to welcome these families back each year and watch them grow.

We cannot thank the community enough for their continued support of our little food drive! We look forward to seeing all the super heroes, pumpkins and princesses back again next year as we aim to break the 10,000 pound mark.

The Wagner Boys

These boys! This family! I could go on and on about how much I love them. Having grown up with their mother, it’s hard not to get a little emotional having them in front of the camera. Our session lasted all evening, spilling over into playtime back at their home. We had laughing, some crying, silly faces and faces which were supposed to be serious but made everyone laugh anyway.

There is so much love in this family. It was an honor to spend a little time with them to capture it.

Bug

This sweet face is Bug. Bug is a 10 year old pup who was recently diagnosed with cancer. Wanting to capture a few lasting moments while she is still feeling well, Bug’s mom invited us out to one of her favorite spots for a photo shoot.

Bug just adores her mom, Robyn. She spent most of our session leaning up against her, enjoy head rubs and doggie treats. Bug even showed off a few of her tricks including hand shakes and spinning.
