The Morrison Family

This lovely family is the Morrison Family. Sweet Zola has been participating in our Scare Away Hunger food drive for several years now. So when her parents mentioned doing some photos with extended family, of course we were all about it!

Zola rocked the shoot in her stylish purple dress and sparkling shoes, which shined as she showed off her signature dance moves. She had everyone laughing with her silly faces and jokes. We spent some time on the swings and dancing down the sidewalk. It really was a perfect evening.

Conquering Childhood Cancer – Christopher’s Story

This young man is Christopher, a childhood cancer survivor and my hero!

As someone whose life has been touched by cancer, I can tell you that the struggle is real. No matter how optimistic you are, each day brings a battle that tests your strength. As an adult, you understand the circumstances, the limitations and why things have to be done a certain way. I cannot begin to imagine facing that battle as a child when I could barely handle it as an adult.

Tracy And Tim Get Married!

What a sweet wedding we have on the blog today! After spending a fair amount of time planning, Tracy and Tim decided that a traditional wedding just wasn’t what they wanted. Instead, they opted for an intimate ceremony at a local Hillsborough art gallery. Surrounded by their children and close family, the two exchanged vows in front of one of their favorite paintings. It was romantic, beautiful and very them.

Patiently awaiting the arrival of the bride and groom.

Tim and Tracy were joining their to families together. So having each child play a role was very important.

The family circle was so precious!

Mom is always on duty!

The Lewis Family

Oh goodness, I am excited to introduce you all to the super sweet Lewis family! Last year, Rachel reached out to me to share the wonderful news that their family had grow by one. Little Kate had arrived healthy and happy. After several months of coordinating, we were finally able to get together for some family photos.

To say Little Kate was a ham for the camera would be an understatement. She certainly has her parents’ happy outgoing personalities. Everyone loves a good squishy newborn baby photo. However, my favorite time to photograph a baby is right around that 4-6 month mark. That’s when their personality really starts to show. Kate was all smiles and giggles through our session. Even standing outside in some drizzle couldn’t dampen her mood.

Sarah & Jorge Get Married

We could not have asked for a better way to finish up 2017 than with Sarah and Jorge’s wedding! We have known the couple for many years. Their children have been participating in our Scare Away Hunger for quite some time. So it was truly an honor to be asked to be a part of their special day.

Sarah and Jorge exchanged vows on a beautiful winter day in downtown Durham. Their wedding was so much fun and full of such love. Family plays an intricate role in a Hispanic wedding. Since we had never photographed a Hispanic wedding before, Sarah explained to us the different traditions involved. Each guest gets a photo with the couple. The first dance at the reception involved all of Sarah and Jorge’s family. As someone who has never been a part of that type of celebration before, it was incredible to watch and capture.
