2016 Walk for the Animals

A few weeks ago, we were out at Duke University volunteering at the annual Walk for the Animals, benefiting the Animal Protection Society of Durham (APS of Durham). I love helping out with this event! It brings my heart so much joy to see our community come out in support of the work the APS of Durham does.

This is one of the biggest events each year for the shelter. Hundreds of people and their pets pack Duke’s East Campus, which means the photo opportunities are endless! Here are some of our favorites.

The first part of our day was spent taking individual and team photos at the APS of Durham backdrop. Hugo, an APS alum, made sure to come by and see us. He came to the shelter many years ago as a severe abuse case. Now, he is healthy and living the life. I think his smile says it all!

APS of Durham volunteers are rock stars! The work and dedication put in by all of them is just amazing!

Kisses!

And they’re off!

Oh, all the licks and kisses we received as everyone walked by…

“What’s that?”

Who needs four legs anyway?

“I’m coming for you.”

The Durham Bulls mascot, Wool E. Bull, helps out at the kids education table.

How adorable is this little girl?

“Who is going to rub my belly?”

Photo bomb!

We love seeing alumni out at the walk.

These are some awesome kisses! I would hate to be a judge in this competition.

A big thank you to everyone who walked, volunteered and supported the Walk for the Animals! We look forward to seeing everyone out there again next year!
