Another exciting addition of USA Baseball’s Tournament of Stars (TOS) is in the books. Man, what a week! It included very hot, very long days, but the baseball was well worth it. More than 100 of the country’s top high school players descended on the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, NC, in hopes being selected for the 18U national trials roster. Those selected will compete to represent the United States in international competition later this year. For many, the chance to wear the USA uniform is a life long dream. Competing at the Tournament of Stars is the first step to realizing that dream.
As we prepare for the 18U trials, here are a few of my favorite photos from the week.
Two other events were also happening at the USA Baseball Training Complex this week. The Collegiate National Team kicked off their summer with a series against Chinese Taipei. USA Baseball was also hosting the 12U futures tournament. One afternoon, all of the 12U teams came out to cheer on the Collegiate National Team. A few also stuck around to watch some of the TOS action.
