As many of you know, we are big supporters of the Animal Protection Society of Durham. It is a fabulous organization of caring people who are making a difference in the lives of animals and families in our community every day.
One of my favorite events to volunteer at is the Tails at Twilight Gala. The Tails at Twilight Gala is one to the APS of Durham’s big fundraising events. I love volunteering for it for several reasons. First, I have an excuse to get all dressed up! (Honestly, we all love doing it every once in a while). More importantly, Alycat has a huge impact on the event. We create the videos that play during the event. We photograph it. And, my favorite part, we donate a live auction package that makes one lucky bidder’s pet the Face of the APS for an entire year. This year’s package raised over $3000 for the APS of Durham. Photographing the bidding as it went back and forth was thrilling and humbling.
Over all, the event raised $100,000 for the abused and homeless animals in our community! We are so honored to play a small role in helping to make that happen.
